Illinois State Hockey welcomes Blake Becker to the Redbird Family! The Illinois native forward will be joining us for the 2025-26 season as he is finishing up his season with the Florida Eels in the USPHL!
Blake chose to go to Illinois State because, “the team is good and it’s close to home for me.” He intends to major in business while at ISU. Becker is looking forward to meeting the guys and seeing who his brothers are for the next 4 years.
When asked about his favorite coach, Blake stated, “David Wandell because he trained me my whole life and led my team to a state championship.” Becker credits that his biggest supporter are his parents and coach David Wandell. When asked about his biggest goal, Blake said “when I scored the OT winner to take us to the state championship game or when I scored a hat trick in the championship game.” The best hockey memory that Becker has had was going to Arizona with his 16U AAA team.
