ISU Hockey Welcomes Eddie Peterson!

Illinois State Hockey welcomes Eddie Peterson to the Redbird Family! The Kickapoo, Illinois native forward will be joining us for the 2025-26 season as he is finishing up his season with the Peoria Mustangs in the NA3HL!

Eddie chose to go to Illinois State because, “I’ve heard a lot of great things about the program, and I have former teammates that go to ISU.” He intends to major in business while at ISU. Peterson is looking forward to all the memories he’ll make while at ISU.

When asked about his favorite coach, Eddie stated, “Blake and Steve Ortman because they know the game really well and gave everything they had into coaching.” Peterson credits that his biggest supporter is his dad. When asked about his biggest goal and hockey memory, Eddie said it was his first NA3HL goal.

Some other fun facts about Eddie Peterson:

If Eddie could be an animal, he would be a shark because they are able to do whatever they want. Peterson has two sisters: Lynnae and Elynn. His favorite food is fish tacos.

Eddie is another addition to a large list of players to come from the Peoria Mustangs program including Tony Campise, Michael Natoli, Cole Walter, Kason Yamada, Ethan Chesney, Jaycob Bland, Ryan Callahan, Sam Truxaw, Declan McDermott, Brendan Donovan and current teammate Jack Mitchell.
