About the Organization

Illinois State University Redbird Hockey was founded in 1969 making it the oldest student run organization on campus.  The home rink for the redbirds is a combination of the conjoined Grossinger Motors Arena, and the Bloomington Ice Center.  Built in 2005 the arena can seat up to 5,000 and the division 1 team has an exclusive locker room in the arena.  The organization plays under the American Collegiate Hockey Association or the ACHA at D1, D2, And D3 levels.  All three Redbird hockey teams are a force to be reckoned with in their divisions.

The date is set. The D1 birds are back in action on September 16 against Missouri State. It’s youth hockey night and any kid that wears their favorite hockey jersey will receive free admission. You’ll also have the opportunity to skate on the ice with the Redbirds after the game!
