About the Organization

Illinois State University Redbird Hockey was founded in 1969 making it the oldest student run organization on campus. The home rink for the redbirds is a combination of the conjoined Grossinger Motors Arena, and the Bloomington Ice Center. Built in 2005 the arena can seat up to 5,000 and the division 1 team has an exclusive locker room in the arena. The organization plays under the American Collegiate Hockey Association or the ACHA at D1, D2, And D3 levels. All three Redbird hockey teams are a force to be reckoned with in their divisions.
