Illinois State Hockey Welcomes Andreas Zorn!

Illinois State Redbirds welcome Andreas Zorn to the family!

Zorn, a 5′-10″ 180 lb. defensemen is a Chicago, IL native. He joins the Redbirds after a successful season with the Chicago Cougars in the USPHL Premier League!

Andreas chose ISU because “it’s close to home, I’m familiar with many people in and out of hockey there, and the hockey program is run well.” He intends to transfer into the engineering program. “My favorite coach was Josh Dallmann with the Cougars. You might not always have been able to do things your way, but he saw good traits in your game that you couldn’t see yourself, and he always tried to bring those out of you,” Zorn stated. Andreas’s biggest supporter is his parents. “From driving me when I was younger to and still now taking time from their schedules to watch me play.” Zorn stated that his biggest goal was, “scoring in Detroit my first with the Cougars, a few days after my grandmother passed.” Andreas expressed his favorite hockey memory was, “the Dallas tournament my U18 year with the Chicago Jets.” Andreas has one sibling, Alessia. Zorn is looking forward to playing hockey with his close friends and finding his way on his own.

Zorn joins a list of former Cougars alumni like Mike Sliwinski, Mason Perri, Kevin Kost, Michael Lenhart, Joe and Giovanni Gulino. He also joins teammate Joey Zullo as apart of the 2023 committed class!
