ISU Hockey Welcomes Dylan Posch!

Illinois State Hockey welcomes Dylan Posch to the Redbird Family! The Mount Prospect, IL native goaltender will be joining us for the 2025-26 season from the Minnesota Moose in the NA3HL!

Dylan chose to go to Illinois State because, “I felt it was the best fit for me and my goals to get a degree and play competitive hockey.” He plans on studying data science while at ISU. Posch is looking forward to meeting the team, getting to work and winning a lot of games.

When asked about his favorite coach, Dylan stated, “Jeremy Szczurek because he always made showing up to the rink fun for the 4 years I played for him.” Posch credits his biggest supporters is his parents because, “They’ve never been scared to make a long drive to come see me play.” When asked about his biggest assist, Dylan stated, “I’ve never scored a goal but I’ve had a few assists sending the puck down the ice for a goal on the rush and they’re all special to me so I can’t just choose one.” The best hockey memory that Posch has had was making to the National Championship with his 18U team.

If Dylan could be an animal, he would be a cat because of their quick reflexes. His favorite foods are pasta and hamburgers.

Posch joins a large list of NA3HL players to commit to the Redbirds this season including Eddie Peterson, Jack Mitchell, Ryan Spreyne, Dominic Luparell, Lucca Weinkauf, and fellow Moose teammate Jackson Schaefer.

He tracks the puck extremely well and has all the qualities that we look for in a goaltender.
