ISU Redbirds Hockey Welcomes Jaycob Bland!

Illinois State Redbirds welcome Jaycob Bland to the family!

Bland, a 5′-10″ 180 lb. forward is a Hudson, IL native. He joins the Redbirds after playing 220 games for the Peoria Mustangs in the NA3HL!

Jaycob chose ISU because “Illinois State was close to home and somewhere will I wanna win it all.” He is going to be a business management major. “My favorite coach was Jean-Guy Trudel. He made me into the player I am today and made me want so much more than I could imagine,” Bland stated. Jaycob’s biggest supporter is his mom. “She always wants me to do things I couldn’t imagine myself doing. I am so thankful for her always believing in me.” Bland stated that his biggest goals were, “in playoffs when I had two shorthanded goals in game 1 of playoffs.” Jaycob has two siblings, Jaylyn and Leigha. Jaycob is looking forward to getting a great degree and winning a national championship.

Bland joins a list of former Mustangs turned Redbirds like Redbird alumni; Tyler Kuhn, Nick Ulrich, and Brennan Begner. As well as former Mustangs teammates; Michael Natoli, Tony Campise, Brendan Donovan, and Jackson Gram.
