Meet the New Redbirds Hockey Board!

ISU Hockey would like to introduce you to the new board for the 2022-23 season!

 

   Nicky Burns is the new General Manager of ISU Hockey.

Nicky Burns is a Bloomington/Normal native and ISU Alumni. She grew her passion for hockey when her son started playing in the local Rec league at the age of 4. He’s now 17 and has been in the travel program for the last 11 years. Nicky has been the team manager for 9 of those years and the Master Ice Scheduler for Bloomington Youth Hockey for the last 7 years. In that time, she’s gained valuable experience on the administrative side of hockey.

Nicky joined the staff of ISU Hockey in the fall of 2021 and found college hockey to be a fun, exciting experience. She’s looking forward to being part of the program as it continues to grow.

 

Coach Chris Prewitt is the new Director of Hockey Operations for Illinois State University Hockey.

Coach Prewitt grew up in Bloomington, IL playing inline and ice hockey locally. He played for the Peoria Jr. Riverman through his youth years at the CSDHL level before joining the Peoria Mustangs for three seasons. He is happily married with 5 amazing kids supporting him through his journey!

Coach Prewitt joined Illinois State the summer before our 21-22 season. In his first season as head coach of D1, he lead the Redbirds to a 18-13 record while finishing and a 3rd place during the MCH regular season. The 21-22 Redbirds went to place second in the MCH Lindsay Cup Playoffs falling to Maryville in the championship game 4-1.

 

Lindsay Prewitt is the Merchandise and Marketing Director for Illinois State University Hockey.

She is the point person for the marketing programs, fundraising, and corporate sponsorships for the Club. Prior to joining Illinois State University, she spent 12 years volunteering in the local travel hockey organization, creating many of their large fundraising efforts along with serving seven years on their Board of Directors.

 

Adam Trzaska is the new club President!

Adam is entering his senior season with the Redbirds. Trzaska finished the 2021-22 season with 6 points (1 goal and 5 assists) over 21 games for D2.

 

Wil Kelly is the new club Vice President!

Wil is entering his senior season with the Redbirds after a phenomenal 2021-22 season. Kelly finished with 24 points (5 goals and 19 assists) over 31 games for D1 and D2. Kelly also received MACHA Gold 1st Team Defensemen. Wil hopes to continue the success heading into his final season.

 

Brennan Mitchell is the new club Treasurer!

Brennan is entering his second season with the Redbirds. Mitchell was apart of the MACHA Bronze Champion D3 team last season racking up 7 assists during the season.
