Illinois State Redbirds welcome Joe Gulino to the family! Gulino, a 5′-10″ 175 lb. forward is a Franklin Park, IL native. He joins the Redbirds after a successful season with the Chicago Cougars in the Premier division of the USPHL.

Gulino chose ISU because will allow me to continue my education at a good school along with competing with my friends for a national championship. He currently is an undecided major. His favorite coaches are the Chicago Cougar coaching staff – Josh Dallman, Joey Caprio, and Johnny Schwarz. “All three coaches last year pushed me to my limits to make me a better hockey player and always harped to make sure I always did the little things right,” Gulino stated. Joe’s biggest supporter is his dad. “My dad has always been my biggest supporter to try and keep me moving forward. He has put a lot of time and money into my hockey career ever since my brother and I were little and truly believed in us on and off the ice,” Gulino states. Joe’s favorite hockey memory was making it to the state championship my u16 CYA year. Gulino’s favorite goal was during his u16 year on CYA against Compuware in HPHL where he had both goals to win 2-1.

“Joe is extremely talented and I am extremely excited to have him be a part of this group! We expect him to have an instant impact as we continue to help him develop and grow!” – Coach Chris Prewitt.
