ISU Hockey Welcomes Noah Van Herik!

Illinois State Hockey welcomes Noah Van Herik to the Redbird Family! The Kildeer, IL native goaltender will be joining us for the 2025-26 season from the Florida Eels in the USPHL!

Noah chose to go to Illinois State because, “I chose Illinois State University because it offers the right balance of academic support and opportunities to continue pursuing my goals both in and out of the classroom.” He intends to major in finance while at ISU. Van Herik is looking forward to getting a great education in a good environment.

When asked about his favorite coach, Noah stated, “Frank Scarpacci, because his professionalism and character on and off the ice.” Van Herik credits his biggest supporters is his friends and family. When asked about his biggest assist, Noah said it was from the 2024-25 season where he assisted on what would be a 2 on 1 goal. The best hockey memory that Van Herik has had was being able to complete a three-peat in state championship with his youth team.

If Noah could be an animal, he would be a cheetah because he thinks being the fastest animal in the world would be awesome. Van Herik has one older sibling: Hannah. His favorite food is ribeye steak.

Van Herik joins current teammate Blake Becker as the second member of the Florida Eels to commit to the Redbird Hockey family.
